Tostones

Easy and delicious!

Ingredients:

7 green plantains

Oil

Optional:

Re-fried Beans

Pico de Gallo

Cheese

Sour cream

Directions:

  1. Peel the plantains under water. Cut the bottom and top off the plantain, then make 3 or 4 long cuts to the skin and peel.

  2. Cut them into 3 or 4 pieces or approximately 2 inches long.

  3. Fry in oil until golden in color and soft.

  4. Gently smash the plantains on a flat surface.

  5. Fry them again in hot oil.

  6. Add a dash of salt when ready to serve.

Optional:

Add re-fried beans, cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream
