Fried Rice

Takeout who?

Ingredients:

2 tbsp of garlic (minced)

2 tbsp of shallots or onions (cubed)

2 thai chilis (chopped and optional)

3 cups of rice (at least a day old)

2 spring green onion (sliced)

1/4 cup of peas

1/4 cup of carrots (cubed)

2 eggs

3 tbsp of soy sauce

1 tsp white pepper

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

1/4 cup beef, shrimp, pork or chicken (pre-cooked and optional)

Directions:

  1. In a wok heat vegetable oil until slightly smoking. Then add garlic and onions or shallots stirring frequently until fragrant.

  2. Add egg, carrots, peas and chilis while continuing to stir. If you want to add meat, do so in this step.

  3. Add soy sauce and white rice and mix until combined and heated through.

  4. Add sesame oil, white pepper and stir until combined.

  5. Add sliced spring onions, stir until combined

  6. Serve!
